Welcome to MIDST, a family-owned design studio nestled in the heart of the Rockies in Salida, Colorado. At MIDST, we draw on the rich expertise of Kent's fine furniture career (kenttownsend.com) and Madelyn's architectural background in Montana and New York City.

Our family has always found unity in the kitchen, bringing us together, despite what we are in the middle of. Thus this spirit of connection influences and inspires everything we create at MIDST. 

MIDST is our way of merging our artistic backgrounds to create beautifully crafted products for the home, such as those in the middle of our lives. We hope to expand these products, as we begin with a cornerstone of the kitchen: the cutting board.
